Repair and sale terms
These are the terms we work to. The agreement you sign when you leave a device with us is the document that governs that repair, and it says the same things in full.
Repairs
- We give you the price before any work starts. If it changes, we call you and we do not go ahead without your OK.
- Eligible repairs carry a 90-day warranty on the part and on our work, from the day you pick the device up, at no extra charge. We repair or replace; there are no cash refunds on repairs.
- Not covered: drops, cracks or bends after the repair; liquid damage; pressure damage to a screen; torn flex cables; work opened or redone by somebody else; software, data and account locks; anything unrelated to the repair we did; and parts sold as no-warranty, which your receipt says plainly.
- A damaged device can have faults that only appear once it is opened or switched on. We test before and after and we tell you what we find. We are not responsible for damage that was already there.
- Your data is your responsibility: please back up first. Repair, testing and resets can erase information.
- If we cannot repair it, you pay the $30 diagnostic fee and nothing more. If you go ahead with the repair, that is not charged on top.
- Payment is due when you pick the device up.
- Water-damaged devices can fail again later, so those repairs carry no warranty. We say so before we start.
Parts
- We tell you which grade of part is going into your device, and your ticket says it in writing. Some parts are original manufacturer parts and some are not; a part that is not original still carries our warranty.
- If a new part turns out to be faulty we replace it at no cost, and we tell you if that adds any wait.
- A deposit may be needed when we special-order a part, or for board-level and data work. It comes off your bill at pickup.
- Repair parts sold over the counter are a final sale.
Used devices and accessories we sell
- A used phone or tablet we sell is covered for 90 days from the day of the sale. That is a separate promise from a repair warranty and it is a different length on purpose.
- Accessories can be exchanged within 7 days with the receipt.
- Every used device is sold with its condition described plainly, and we tell you if it has had a repair.
- We do not sell a device that is reported lost or stolen, or that is locked to somebody else's account.
Selling us a device
- You must be the owner and be able to show photo ID. We photograph the ID because the law requires it of second-hand dealers, and we keep it only as long as the law requires. How long, exactly
- The device must be signed out of its accounts and unlocked. We cannot buy a device with an account lock on it, and we will never remove one.
- An estimate from this website is an estimate. The price we pay is settled after we have the device in our hands and have tested it.
Picking your device up
- We text or email you when your device is ready, and we remind you.
- If you leave a device with us and never come back for it, we hold it for 90 days from the day we tell you it is ready. We write to you, we text you and we call you first. After that we may keep it for parts, sell it towards what you owe, or recycle it. If a sale raises more than you owe us, the difference is yours - ask us for it.
Implied warranties
Apart from the written warranty above, work and devices are sold AS IS, WITH ALL FAULTS. We disclaim all implied warranties, including the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY and any implied warranty of FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
In plain words: the written warranty above is the warranty you get, and there is no second, unwritten one on top of it. It does not take away the 90 days, or any right you have that cannot be signed away. Indiana law (Ind. Code 26-1-2-316) requires this to be said in these words and in print you can see, which is why it reads the way it does.
Texts and emails
When you give us a phone number for a repair, we use it to tell you about that repair: that we have it, what it will cost, that it is ready, and a reminder if it is waiting. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Reply STOP to any of our texts to stop them, or just tell us; it makes no difference to your repair or your warranty, and we will call you instead.
We do not sell your number. We only send offers to people who have ticked the box for them in their account, and we keep the date they did.
About this page
These are the store's own terms, written in plain words by the store. They are not a substitute for the agreement you sign at drop-off, which is the document that governs your repair.
Questions about any of this: ask at the counter or call (574) 339-3281.
